About Bhopal

The ancient city of Bhopal, founded by King Bhuj of Parmer dynasty is the capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is popularly known as the 'city of lakes' because of the breathtaking lakes, present in the city. There are two lakes in the heart of the city. Demarcating boundaries by the lakes, Bhopal has been developed in the east and west. On the bank of the small lake, there are narrow lanes, various mosques, palaces, shops and establishments - in a word a dingy city of the Begums(1819-1926).

Bhopal has gone through a make-over. Smooth roads, sky-high buildinds, green trees are the features of the new city. Mini bus, tonga, taxi, auto rickshaw ply in the city. For any tourist, a trip to this fascinating place is bound to be an enriching experience. What can be more soothing than to enjoy at night, the reflection of the illuminated city in the lakewater!
